Restructure Of Human Resources Function

CPD worked closely with Gattaca (formerly Matchtech group) for many years; providing unique and transferable learning and development solutions to their Sales, Shared Services and Management teams.

In 2012, the Executive team created a project group to review the performance and offering of the Shared Services functions; IT, Finance, Marketing, Legal and HR. CPD was asked to facilitate the review and co-ordinate research, headed up by the Business Leads.
Following completion of the review and in line with the recent and forecast future growth of the business, a decision was made to develop and implement a Human Resources Business Partner model. The model would include a HR Generalist for each of the brands and the department would be headed up by an experienced, and CIPD qualified, Head of Human Resources.
The restructure represented a significant culture change and CPD worked closely with the Executive team to effectively manage the internal marketing communications.
Between August 2012 and March 2013, Sue Walsh, MD of CPD, managed the existing HR function and the on-going business requirements for internal recruitment, L&D, Employee Relations and performance management, whilst incorporating Facilities and Health and Safety into the department and identifying and recruiting a new HR specialist team.

By January 2013, two generalist HR Business Partners, a Group Systems and Process Training Specialist, an Internal Recruitment Consultant, Facilities / H&S Manager and two HR administrators were positioned to report into a new, experienced Head of Human Resources.
