Having designed and delivered this clients Sales development programmes, CPD was invited to conduct a training needs analysis in order to identify the support and development required by the current and future management teams within the group.
Prior to this time, operational staff were promoted to Team Leader, and subsequently Department Manager, based on sales achievement. Whilst those at Recruitment Consultant level were provided with the training and guidance required to achieve consistent excellence in sales performance, neither junior nor middle management were offered any internal management development at this time; a situation which the top team wanted to address.
Following the successful implementation of the MTG sales development programme, CPD designed, developed and delivered two modular management development programmes; ‘Leading Team Performance’, for Team Leaders, Supervisors and first line managers within the business and ‘Managing Team Performance’ for those transitioning from the operational tasks, still required at junior management level, to full management responsibilities.
At this point CPD developed and implemented the Matchtech Group competency framework and provided the management team with the skills and knowledge to utilise this new tool for the effective identification, selection, recruitment, development and performance management of their own personnel.
Our objective was to assist in the creation of a new learning culture within the business; to enable managers to identify and address performance deficit, adopt different styles of leadership and communication and provide constructive feedback and coaching interventions for their people.
The management development programmes have been amended and enhanced over the years, in line with business changes and growth. Individuals attended the programmes once they had been provided with the promotional objectives they were required to achieve in order to reach Team Leader or Department Manager.
Our coaching programmes, management support and the management development modules help to set the managers of the future up for success. The company has traditionally grown their management talent from within. They work hard to provide the necessary skills, knowledge and environment to their team to enable them to thrive.
The Group has a long history of promoting people within and this has created a very positive ‘can do’ culture within the organisation. CPD provides the practical tools to improve their management skills and knowledge helping them to continue developing their management careers.
